Five minutes with Emma Munday
KFH’s Head of Londonwide Conveyancing discusses how her department helps buyers and sellers by connecting them with expert property solicitors, among other things.

Buying and selling property in London takes knowledge and expertise. Londonwide Conveyancing (LWC) is a panel of more than 20 independent London law firms, with specialist property solicitors and conveyancers handpicked for their proactive approach and expertise in the dynamic London property market.
We recently caught up with Emma Munday, Head of LWC at KFH, to chat about her growing department, and how they help Londoners successfully buy and sell property by connecting them with the right expert property solicitor.
Describe your role as Head of Londonwide Conveyancing at KFH?
I head up a small team of coordinators based out of the KFH head office, pairing KFH clients with the right solicitor from the LWC panel based on their relevant expertise.
We provide fixed fee quotes for buyers and sellers for conveyancing, and more recently, for lease extensions too. We then place the client with the lawyer best suited for their case.
I work to create a harmonious environment for my team, and I ensure that we are continually providing support to our clients throughout the conveyancing process.
Why should someone consider using LWC over alternative solicitors?
All the lawyers on the panel have a proven track record for being proactive and communicative. Collectively, they have unparalleled knowledge of the London market, leaseholds, and the Building Safety Act.
Our solicitors are the experts, covering central London and beyond. Many of them also speak a variety of languages to serve our overseas clients.
We also manage the law firms on a capacity basis, ensuring they never get too busy. If they are unable to act on a case due to workload or holiday, we assign the case with another solicitor who can.
We have built great relationships working with them over a number of years. They provide our clients with an excellent service – one we are proud to recommend.
Has the department developed since you started?
Yes - When I joined in 2016, referral rates from the KFH branches were very low.
We need to strengthen the connection between lawyers and the branch network, so we introduced branch visits, training sessions and in-house seminars. We put effort into educating our colleagues on the importance of solicitors who are reliable and communicative. Over time, branches have formed strong working relationships with the lawyers.
More recently, the introduction of our lease extension service has expanded the scope of the panel. It has also meant we can broaden our service out to our landlords, leaseholders in blocks we manage, and new customers to KFH.
What does your team do that you are most proud of?
We are a small team of four, and I am proud of how much they care about guiding our buyers and sellers to make an informed decision. They each take the time to explain the process, and they really care about what they do.
The energy in the office is always great, and I love hearing about what everyone is up to. It’s rare we have a day when someone doesn’t break into song at some point in the afternoon.
Tell us about you and your career journey.
I have been in LWC since 2014 and was promoted to head up the department in 2016.
I started out in estate agency in Berkshire in 2001 as a sales negotiator. Then I went to university and returned to residential sales again in 2007, before moving to London and joining KFH Clapham in 2011.
It wasn’t long before I had my first child, so I started looking for a position that offered more flexible working hours. I still wanted to utilise my residential sales experience and be connected to the sales branches, so by chance, a position opened in LWC and it was clearly the perfect opportunity to move.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
The outdoors and travel are my passion. I enjoy taking part in road, endurance and trail running events in the UK and Europe.
The rest of my spare time is taken up running around after our two young children and ferrying them to their own clubs and events.
